I go by halfclovers. Some people call me half and some people call me clover. halfclovers is a video essay channel focusing on otaku media that generally interests me, particularly video games, anime, and manga.
I've wanted to be a YouTube creator for most of my life. Seeing the slop content that most "professional" YouTubers put out in order to make money over the years, I've since lost complete interest in YouTube as a profession, despite loving the platform and still wanting to be a creator. Therefore, this is a channel kept up purely out of personal interest. I plan for the content on my channel to have some sort of monetization for the time being. As of my writing this (04.09.2024), I am a graduate student with very limited funds, so any money that I make off of these videos will go back into the channel, whether it is purchasing capture devices, or a computer that can better handle editing software.
The purpose of this blog is to provide updates, progress reports, and narratives around my videos and anything that might affect the creation of them. Main "episodes" of this series are expected to be released once per season of the year, starting with my Shimeji Simulation video in Spring, 2024. Without even having uploaded episode 1, I've had so many thoughts about this channel and the video I am working on, and I believe this is the best place to provide this supplementary material and any major updates, instead of some Twitter blog where updates are drowned out by unrelated posts.
I haven't had much experience with html, so this site might be a bit unorganized. Apologies for any potential difficulties or annoyances. With each important update, I will provide a link on Youtube.
Thank you for stopping by and thank you for supporting me.
